Terrazzo

Terrazzo is made from a blend of marble grains mixed with concrete  (nowadays, in the past it was with lime) and mixed with smaller grain and cocciopesto. It reached its popularity during the period of  ¨Serenissima Republic of Venice¨ when it spread as a choosen type of flooring for aristocratic palaces.

The graphic feature of the Venetian terrazzo is its irregular texture - and that makes it suitable for actual trends. In fact we are witnessing a great comeback of this pattern for tile decoration, after years of minimal and monocromatic trends.
